Henan technical college of construction, founded in 1958, originally known as Henan staff and workers college of construction. In 1982, approved by the people's government of Henan province and put on record by State Education Commission, it became a public independent full-time adult college. In 1998, Henan technical college of construction was run jointly with Henan constructional engineering college. In 2002, authorized by the provincial department of education，it had the qualification of general high vocational education. In the March of 2008, approved by Henan people's government and recorded by Ministry of Education, it was promoted as Henan technical college of construction, which is the only constructional college of the independent general high vocational colleges in Henan. Now, it is affiliated to Construction Department. Since it is founded, it has been insisting on running with socialist orientation, implementing the Party's education policy fully, taking the economic development of Henan as it’s own task, basing on the construction trade, opening to the whole society, taking the road of work-and-study and exploring ways of cultivating high-skilled talents. The college has formed its own characteristics, its strength and management will be improved constantly.
    At present，the college has two campuses: the old one is located on Zhongyuan Road, No. 199, Zhengzhou City; the new one is located on Gongye Road, Mazhai Industrial Zone, Zhengzhou City. It covers an area of 626.2 mu, a building area of 288,000 square meters, and nearly 30million yuan teaching equipments.
    The college has seven teaching departments: Civil Engineering Department, Architecture Department, Engineering Management Department, Equipment Engineering Department, Information Engineering Department, Basic Courses Department and Continuing Education Center. It ?has 24 majors (such as construction engineering technology, architectural decoration technology, etc.), 2 professional directions and 10 adult professional specialties. The total full-time students at school are nearly ten thousand.
    The college has a high-quality teaching and administrative staff. There are 571 teachers, of which 380 are specifically part-time or full-time teachers, 79 have Senior Titles, 2 are the provincial vocational education experts, 8 are the provincial lead academic technicians, 6 are the members of Housing Construction Professional Guidance Committee, and as to the rest 180 teachers, they are registered architects, construction managers, structural engineers, cost engineers, other qualified teachers,or two-Quality Teachers .
    The library of the college has a collection of 398 000 books, of which 326 000 are paper books, and 72 000 are e-books, the periodicals including Chinese and foreign are 320 kinds. Book lending and query has been achieved computer automatic management. We also have a Gigabit Campus Network to connect the two campuses, covering all the college building, thus all the information points of the college can share the resources online. It has good practicing teaching environment, more than 50 sites for experiment and training, it is also the Test Center of computer skills and CET4. The research and production institutions and social service agencies such as Construction Planning and Design Office, Construction Quality Inspection Station, National Occupational Skill Testing Authority, Property companies, etc. and 60 stable training bases outside the college have opened up a broad arena for students’ experiment, practice ,skill-training and all kinds of social practice.
    During these 50 years of professional education course, Henan technical college of construction takes “Integrity is the foundation of the building, knowledge is the base of the career” as its motto, “Education-oriented, Quality-first, employment-based and capacity-strengthened” as its spirit, “Combination work with study, school-enterprise cooperation” as guideline to improve the students' capacity in working, management, innovation and continuous learning.
    We have established a long-term stable relationship with hundreds of enterprises inside and outside Henan province. The employment rate of the college remains 95%, and many graduate students have become backbones in the large and medium-sized enterprises. "High quality, high employment, high talent" have ensured the personnel training. The college has won provincial level honor titles many times and it will become more and more prestigious in the future. Since 2009, The college has developed 17 departmental level or above educational and scientific research projects, and won more than 34 kinds of departmental level or above achievement awards.The college has obtained many honorary titles ,such as “The advanced group of Ministry of Construction” , “The Ideological and political advanced group of National housing and urban construction units”, “The advanced vocational education group of Henan Province”, “The Civilized College of Henan Province ”, “Jiao Yulu Cup of the provincial Housing and Construction Department”, “The advanced group of the provincial Housing and Construction Department”, “Five-good Party Committee”, “The advanced group of the educational system” , “The advanced Party-work-style and clean-government-built group? of the provincial construction system”, “the high employment group of general colleges in Henan”, etc. besides, the college awarded “The advanced double-license-trained group of Henan” and “The advanced group during the year of teacher-trained activity”, and it was identified as the leading unit of Constructional Education Group.
    Currently, the College is moving towards 21century, trying to develop a socialist vocational market-demand-oriented education system, aiming at training skilled talents.
